Books written for persons with dementia

Living with dementia does not mean your loved one’s reading ability is lost forever.

They can still enjoy reading books independently during the early and mid-stages of their diagnosis.  Even when cognitive decline worsens, your loved one may still enjoy having you read aloud with them.  Here are some wonderful books for persons living with dementia.

Author Emma Rose Sparrow had created a wonderful collection of books created and designed for persons living with dementia.  You can find a list of her books on Amazon and on GoodReads.com.  Books such as “What the Wind Showed to Me” and “A Dusting of Snow” provide the reader with an appealing story while not listing that the book is for persons living with dementia.  Neither the title nor the text states it is for persons with memory loss.

You can also find a full list of books on alz.org
