The Caring for the Caregiver Program is committed to supporting caregivers through our practice, education, community engagement, and research. Our Essentials of Caregiving classes occur on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Each class covers one of 8 different important topics related to caregiving for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. Our monthly Caregiver Skill Training Workshops are for family caregivers to learn practical skills and receive hands-on training guided by health care professionals. The three-hour sessions cover lifting and transfer techniques, home safety, dental hygiene care, nutrition management, and medication management. The Virtual Dementia Tour is also included in the Skills Training session. Refreshments provided at both of these events. Registration for these classes and workshops can be completed at our EventBrite page: utcaregivers.eventbrite.com
