Staying Socially Engaged

The SA Amigos Memory Cafe Welcomes You!

Living with dementia doesn’t always have to focus on the “can’ts”. The SA Amigos Memory Café is focused on what we can do. We can smile, we can create, we can play, we can love, we can celebrate, and we can connect.

At a time when COVID-19 makes us think of all the things we can’t do, why not build a space that highlights what is still possible when caregiving and living with dementia? COVID-19 won’t stop us from enjoying ourselves and the company of others, all while staying safe in our homes.

The SA Amigos Memory Café gathers every month over Zoom where we share stories, play games, sing songs, and create art together. Our virtual door is open to anyone, particularly caregivers and persons living with dementia. We take pride in our online community that celebrates cultures and heritages and encourages the expression of our unique identities and backgrounds. Our gatherings are always hosted in a bilingual Spanish/English format and activities are planned by a Dementia Friendly Working Group with ongoing feedback from attendees.

Make no mistake that this space is for you. As an SA Amigo/a, you are part of a shared experience where your interests, heritage, and lived experience all add to the unique culture of our community. Whether you live in Texas, the United States, or in another country, you are welcome to join our monthly gatherings.
