April In-Person Events – Register Today

It is exciting to see so many new in-person events scheduled for the month of April. The Caring for the Caregiver recently hosted our first in-person Memory Cafe in 2 years and we had so much fun.  We are excited to share with you a list of community events hosted by our partners in the community.  Please see below for a variety of in-person events across San Antonio.

Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM

This event is back in-person at Morgans Wonderland Park and will also be hosted online through Zoom.

What to Expect:

  • Session 1 – Ginny Funk with the Alzheimer’s Association will offer helpful tips to assist
families on how to have honest and caring conversations with difficult topics

and making legal and financial plans for the future.
  • Session 2 – Join music man extraordinaire Darrin Newhardt as he
takes us down memory lane! Playing your favorite pop and musical theatre
songs from the past 50 years, Darrin uses music to bring memories to you and
    your loved ones.

Every Second Saturday of the Month from 9-10 am

Join UT Health SON Caring for the Caregiver and UT Health School of Occupational Therapy as we partner with State Representative Ray Lopez for a “Morning Walk with Ray”.  Exercises and activities have been thoughtfully curated to make everyone, regardless of age or ability feel comfortable and have fun.  Lite breakfast and giveaways will be provided.  This event is free and open to the public.  *Please note we will meet at Ingram Park Mall (main entrance between JC Penny’s and Macy’s).
