About the speaker:
Dr. Bridgett Piernik-Yoder, Ph.D., OTR
I am an occupational therapist and very proud to serve as the Chair and Program Director of the Department of Occupational Therapy and the Berneice Castella Allied Health Chair in Aging Research at UT Health San Antonio, my alma mater. I am deeply committed to excellence in OT education and serve as the Chairperson for the AOTA Academic Education Special Interest Section (AESIS), and on the the AOTA Commission on Education and the AOTA Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) leadership team.
My clinical background is in adult neurorehabilitation and my scholarly interests include rehabilitation outcomes, fall risk reduction for seniors, meeting the occupational needs of people with dementia and their caregivers, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in health science education.
